Hitachi eBworx Laptop Donation – A Beacon Hope for Children Seeking to Continue Education

House of Joy, Puchong, 22 May 2020 - With Covid-19 plaguing the world with doom and gloom, we were determined to spend our CMCO giving back to society, at a time of great need. Our quest for almsgiving led us to the doorstep of House of Joy.

Established in 1992, it is a children's home dedicated to giving hope and a sense of purpose to the underprivileged and needy. Today, House of Joy is a refuge for 54 children, 10 mentally challenged young adults and 51 elderly who receive much care, provision and support, including counselling and education.

We were disheartened to find out that following the implementation of e-learning during MCO, the children could not continue their education as they were short on computers. Without them having to ask, we immediately set out to complete our new-found mission. We donated 8 brand new laptops and 2 printers, in hopes of helping the children get back on track with their studies while expanding their exposure to technology.

A Heartwarming Moment
Our hearts melted at the sight of the children’s brimming smiles – an indication that ‘joy’ had found its way back in House of Joy, making this initiative an even more fulfilling one.
